Report: CEO: Naftogaz Ukrainy to resubmit claim on Crimea assets

KIEV, Jan 10 (PRIME) -- Ukrainian energy holding Naftogaz Ukrainy plans to resubmit claims against Russia over the loss of assets in Crimea, Executive Director Yury Vitrenko told newswire Liga.net on Friday.

“We are now sending updated claims against Russia over the loss of possibility to use our property in Crimea. The claims are large: 5 billion without interest. And with interest it is more than U.S. $7 billion,” Vitrenko said.

The official hopes that the court in the Hague will rule on the case at the end of 2020 or in early 2021.

Seven companies of Naftogaz Ukrainy sent a claim against Russia for the losses due to Crimea’s accession to Russia in October 2016.
